We offer an economical On Disc print option, 'Black Printing on a Silver Disc':

If your order is configured with this option, your can save significantly and lower the overall cost of your order BUT this printing style has its limitations.

It is not uncommon for full color images to be supplied for an order configured with 'Black Printing on Silver Disc'. This may be a simple mistake or the presumption that we would convert the image to grayscale before it is printed (like a black and white photo). Unfortunately, due to the limitations of the Black Only label printing process, we cannot reproduce a full color image as 'Black and White' or 'Grayscale'.

When attempting to print the full color image using only black ink, the image is 'dithered' and most of the detail is lost. Also, without a white ink base, the image appears very faint on the disc surface.

Designing for Black Printing on a Silver Disc

Use ONLY solid black text or line art. The result will be a simple and eloquent looking disc with a nice, reflective surface!
